AECOM is hiring Pipefitter Journeyman to join the Shell Scotford Turnaround project team on site near Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This is a temporary position supporting the Turnaround scope of work on a 6/1 shift schedule.
There will be opportunity to move straight through into pre-work for our Spring 2022 TA work so long-term work is potential!
Start Dates: Early to Mid-September
Approximate Duration: 28 days
Travel: Hires are expected to have their own reliable transportation to and from site
Accommodation: Camp accommodation is not provided
Shift and Work Hours: 6 days on, 1 day off, 10+ hours per day; Day and night shift available
Hourly Retention Bonus:
$4.00 per hour will be paid for all hours worked on the Turnaround scope between September 6, 2021 and October 16, 2021 on Shell Scotford Turnaround with AECOM Maintenance Contractors Limited
Payment will be issued once the work is completed
Workers must stay for duration or until you are released. If you are terminated for cause or you resign you will not be paid the retention bonus
Living out Allowance:
For non-local Pipefitters (residing outside 120kms), Shell will provide $110 per day - 7 days per week during the Turnaround work phase (Pre and Post work is not eligible)
Steamfitter – pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes. Pipefitters also remove and replace worn components, do general maintenance work and may work on plant shut-downs.
Pipefitter Journeyman will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:
Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings
Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes
Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems
Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required
Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors
Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion
Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications
Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition
Follow various AECOM and Client policies & procedures including adherence to requirements of ISO 9001-2000

Certified Journeyman and/or holds a valid recognized credential
Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification
OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection
OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry
OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Firewatch
Valid Driver’s License and a clean Driver's Abstract
