AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Air Quality Scientist to be based in Austin, Texas.
This position is expected to begin in September/October 2021.

We provide advisory and technical services to help clients cleanup and close contaminated sites and surplus operational facilities and restore them for reuse, plan and permit new facilities, address critical climate change issues, restore habitats and water quality, protect natural and cultural resources, maintain compliance, and cost effectively manage residuals and wastes.
Our services are delivered by 7,400 responsive environmental professionals around the world. Our global staff has in-depth knowledge of local and regional requirements and broad technical expertise in 60 disciplines. The successful candidate will work in AECOM’s Ambient Air Monitoring (AAM) Group – a recognized center of expertise within AECOM. The successful candidate will primarily work independently, but will also need to interface with clients, contractors, and AECOM managers. As a member of the AAM Data Analysis Team, the successful candidate will have the following responsibilities:
Accumulate, organize, prepare, process, and validate air quality and meteorological data
Assess and analyze data quality
Work with and develop Visual Basic (VBA) programs in Excel
Investigate and explore spatial and temporal characteristics of the data
Perform statistical and descriptive analyses
Generate and explain summary results
Assist in writing reports and proposals
Analyze and validate chromatography
Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and solve instrument problems
Act as a resource to clients in order to answer technical questions and address appropriate issues
B.S. degree in chemistry, atmospheric or environmental science, engineering, or related
Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required
0-2+ year of professional experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
A strong interest in air quality and environmental science
Broad computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and experience using "R"
Strong statistical skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills
Aptitude for working independently and within a team
