Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Operations Manager to join our Vehicle Engineering Maintenance and Operations Support (VEMOS) team. The selected candidate will assist in providing sustainment support services (operational engineering and logistics support) globally for some 25,000 vehicles including the Army's Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, or MRAPs.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of the VEMOS program and performs all functional duties independently.

  • Oversees the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific TA. Plans, directs, or coordinates VEMOS operations of the assigned TA.

  • Formulates operations policies, manages daily operations, and planning the use of materials and human resources.

  • Works closely with functional area leads on the management or administration of personnel.

Required Qualifications:

  • Selected candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.

  • Must have twelve (12) years of related experience with a BS/BA or 10 years of experience and a MA/MS degree.

  • Current Certification as Asset Manager by Institute of Asset Management (IAM) or DAWIA Level III Industrial Contract Management Certifications.

  • Five (5) years of experience performing U.S. Government Property Management.

  • Proven work experience as operations manager within the automotive or defense industry.

  • Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operations management.

  • Budget development and oversight experience.

  • Familiarity with business and financial principles and practices.

  • Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics.

  • Basic IT skills (databases, MS Office etc).

  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Leadership and organizational skills.

  • Familiarity with Quality Assurance processes, and quality monitoring.

  • Familiarity with commercial and/or military warehousing practices

  • Familiarity with recruiting, training, and supervision from a Human Resources perspective.

  • Proven communicator in verbal and written disciplines to include basic computer skills and document preparation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems preferable.

  • Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems.

  • Willingness to travel to hostile areas is desired.                                         

  • Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements.

  • Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.

  • Willingness to deploy to all/any of these locations, including Southwest Asia and South-Central Asia.

  • Some OCONUS deployments may be to risky hostile ("war zone") environments which earn larger bonuses.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have an active (DoD) Secret clearance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and knee.

  • Must be able to push, pull, and reach.

  • Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
