Job Summary

AECOM’s Buildings & Places Business has an exciting opportunity for an experienced BIM Manager to be part of the digital consulting services in our well-respected Building Services Practice in Brisbane.

B+P is an integrated offering across ANZ and AECOM is looking for an, experienced BIM professional that can apply their client relationship skills in the pursuit of integrated bids and the delivery of complex and dynamic projects. This need for BIM in multi-disciplinary project delivery means the role will need to look at the holistic, integrated offer across building services, architecture and civil infrastructure.

This role will see you contribute to a range of complex technical design tasks on medium to large scale projects across the region.

As part of this role your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Increasing Client value from Digital Engineering (DE) including the adoption of Building Information Modelling (BIM) & other Digital Platforms to enhance our project delivery

  • Alignment and Communication with ANZ Digital Transformation Leader and broader ANZ & Global Digital team

  • Streamlining service delivery workflows, including defining and implementing design management and coordination processes.

  • Ensuring AECOM's full digital capability is brought to bids and projects

  • This role will be a visible and active champion of transformation across our region and is critical to enabling us to work in a more integrated way.

The role will also encompass a range of areas for the successful candidate to be involved in, which would include:

Project Delivery

  • Assist and provide BIM input in the development of bid and fee proposals

  • Electrical BIM designer tasks such as set-up, documentation and delivery of projects using BIM techniques and software

  • Manage or provide input in project/client BIM execution plans

  • Attend client and project start up BIM/digital delivery meetings

  • Run and attend project BIM coordination sessions

Digital Consulting Services (Project)

  • Act as a BIM consultant for the MEP and structures teams, with the potential to integrate architecture and civil infrastructure where required

  • BIM Management services, providing oversight of model development of other consultants/contractors and where they are meeting the requirements of the project BIM execution plan

Digital / BIM Development

  • Work with our B+P National Digital Lead in developing initiatives and skills for all our B+P offerings in digital delivery, including cost management, architecture, landscape design and engineering

  • Help advance all disciplines in BIM delivery and advancement from modelling process and workflows through to service offer alignment and understanding of BIM delivery aspects – LOD, LOI, model sharing, databasing etc.


  • Assist, mentor and train less experienced staff in the use of BIM and all elements of integrated digital delivery

Minimum Requirements

  • 15+ years’ experience relevant work experience

  • 12+ years’ consistent Revit delivery of electrical projects

  • 12+ years’ Revit experience

  • High Quality Modelling, documentation and Collaboration experience

  • Experience working within a Building Services Consultancy

  • Proven experience working in a similar role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification

  • Automating modelled elements tools (Dynamo) preferred, not essential.

  • Engineering design collaboration tools (Navisworks, Revizto) for multi discipline projects - preferred not essential.

  • Drawing management tool (RTV Tools) preferred.
