Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Marketing Proposal Specialist to work in collaboration with the East Region business development and operations team on pursuits, including partnering in the preparation of formal and informal client solicitations, including expressions of interest (EOI), requests for qualifications (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP), and pre-qualification efforts. The successful candidate will work partially from home and also partially from one of several AECOM East Region offices, with a preference that the job incumbent work out of any of the following offices: New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Arlington, VA; Orlando, FL.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Possesses extensive knowledge of the company’s philosophy and policies.

  • Demonstrates substantial expertise as a marketing and proposal management generalist or specialist.

  • Possesses thorough job knowledge and is competent in all aspects of the job.

  • Performs advanced assignments requiring independent decisions and resolves problems using an exceptional degree of ingenuity.

  • Under limited supervision or general direction, completed work is reviewed for desired results.

  • Interfaces with technical and BD staff to develop submittals and materials to win new contracts for the company, and to manage the information infrastructure that enables the business to do so efficiently.

  • Provides leadership and direction to pursuit teams for proposals, including schedule, templates, compliance, content planning, messaging and production.

  • Responsible for leading a variety of proposals and presentations from pre-RFP positioning through to interview stage, as required.

  • Provides document design, while ensuring RFP instructions and internal brand guidelines pertaining to format, fonts, etc. are being followed.

  • Participates in go/no-go and greenlight analyses, capture planning and positioning activities as they pertain to preparation for the proposal.

  • Facilitates pink and red team, quality reviews, and applies lessons learned to add value to proposals. Manages the implementation of proposal and presentation revisions based on direction from review teams.

  • Writes and edits tailored resumes and past performance sections for proposals. Provides grammatical and technical editing to ensure quality.

  • Supports special projects, as required.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS, preferably in Journalism, English, Communications, Marketing or a related field.

  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience collaborating within a marketing team to lead and/or support proposal activity with key client and strategic pursuits in support of winning work, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • A developed understanding of effective proposal and presentation writing and production.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of and interest in the A/E industry, including AECOM’s projects, people, credentials, and competitors.

  • A detailed knowledge of marketing best practices and procedures, work processes, and tools.?

  • A strong working knowledge of word processing programs (e.g., Microsoft Word), spreadsheet management (Excel), and presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint), as well as desktop publishing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite), graphics programs (e.g., InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop).

  • A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.

  • An understanding of CRM Salesforce experience is a plus.

  • Initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion.

  • Ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others.?

  • Proven organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to complete varied work tasks on schedule, and lead deliverable efforts by others; and the proven ability to manage documents.

  • Experience demonstrating leadership qualities.

  • Excellent writing skills.
