Willing to consider out-of-state applicants however, a formal relocation package is not available with this position.

This position will manage a team of contract analysts and other support personnel involved with the identification and prosecution of Healthcare Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA) supporting the TRICARE Program Integrity Division. The Senior SME Healthcare leads and coordinates particularly complex technical components of large projects or series of smaller projects with responsibility for the application of advanced methods and techniques in data analysis, sampling, and statistical analysis. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Improve the efficiency of data extraction by overseeing the introduction of advanced programming methods. Lead the team in assisting the Program Integrity Office in their pursuit of FWA through data mining, data analysis, data reporting, healthcare process and coding analysis, providing data system and data methodology expertise.
  • Provide expertise in auditing methodologies and procedures for Program Integrity.
  • Work to proactively identify emerging sources of FWA and locate the exposure to those sources within the TRICARE program. Perform data mining, analysis, and reporting of TRICARE claims data in response to ad hoc and recurring requests from Defense Health Agency Program Integrity Division.
  • Provide consultation in statistical sampling; payment calculation; use of DHA data; use of diagnosis codes, procedures codes, Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) codes, and revenue codes; and study designs.
  • Perform functional Analysis of Patient Encounter Processing and Reporting (PEPR) System issues.
  • Support functional PEPR users and the PEPR system development Contractors in evaluating and mitigating requirements issues associated with the PEPR applications used to analyze TRICARE purchased care claims data.
  • Support the DHA PI staff and anti-fraud partners (i.e., Defense Contract Audit Agency, Defense Criminal Investigative Service, Department of Justice, Military Criminal Investigative Offices, etc.) to determine the best course of action in responding to requests for information to support anti-fraud and abuse activities/efforts.
  • Provide a point of contact to receive reports of allegations of health care fraud/abuse.
  • Supervise a team of data analysts and an Executive Assistant/Analyst responsible for the electronic multi-faceted database tracking system for health care fraud cases, qui tams and lead requests.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters of Science in Statistics, Applied Statistics, Mathematics or Data Analytics plus 5 years’ experience or a PhD and two years of experience.
  • Possess certification or 5+ years of extensive experience in SAS Programming
  • DoD Public Trust clearance
  • Travel Requirement <10%

Basic Compensation:

Pay range: $118,700 - $148,400

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
