AECOM is seeking a motivated, experienced professional to serve as a Senior Mechanical Engineer based in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have a passion for interdisciplinary collaboration in leading the Mechanical/Plumbing design, producing custom solutions, mentoring mid-level and junior staff, and developing calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications for the mechanical design work on exciting and complex projects.

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead and advance mechanical engineering designs, in coordination with technical and discipline leads, for active and upcoming interdisciplinary architecture/engineering projects. This role will serve as the point of contact for assigned projects, while mentoring junior staff in their development of engineering design solutions. Working across disciplines, the ideal candidate will be a champion voice for optimizing building performance and sustainability. Other job responsibilities include:
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus six (6) years of related design experience
Professional Engineer license
Strong work experience with an emphasis in mechanical systems
Due to the nature of this work, US Citizenship is required.
Experience scoping and drafting fees for engineering components of interdisciplinary project work
Able to use advanced techniques in the modification or extension of theories and practices of sciences and disciplines to complete assignments
Experienced in Mechanical Calculation Software
Experienced in application of National Engineering Codes
Skilled in the use of Microsoft programs and BIM software (primarily Revit and AutoCAD)
Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
