MAINTENANCE SPECIALIST HVAC
Looking for full-time, year-round, recession-proof work? The City of De Pere is looking to fill a Maintenance
Specialist HVAC position. As a Maintenance Specialist HVAC you'll have a consistent, secure job that enables you to
work with your hands, help people, and solve problems.

The Maintenance Specialist HVAC will perform work involving the skills of maintenance or craft occupations to keep
machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. The Maintenance Specialist HVAC
position will maintain and troubleshoot operations of various City buildings for heating, ventilation, air conditioning
(HVAC) units, and boiler systems and related problems. The Maintenance Specialist HVAC will also perform general
maintenance and repair of City owned facilities. Maintenance duties include may pipe fitting, insulating, welding,
machining, carpentry, repairing electrical, plumbing or mechanical equipment, installing, aligning, and balancing new
equipment, pool maintenance, and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs which pertains to the maintenance of City

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Apprenticeship or Associate's Degree in appropriate field.
2. Three years of experience in maintenance and troubleshooting commercial HVAC and boiler systems.
3. Three years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance fields.
4. Previous experience in plumbing, aquatic facility maintenance and woodworking, preferred.
5. Aquatic Facility Operator Certification or willingness to obtain within 12 months of date of hire.
6. Journeyman or Apprenticeship HVAC Certification, preferred
7. Ability to obtain a valid unencumbered Wisconsin Class "B" Commercial Driver's License with the air
brake restriction lifted, "N" (tank vehicle) endorsement within 12 months of date of hire and, a safe
driving record.
A combination of education and experience may be considered.
Anticipated Starting Salary: $27.03 - $30.89 per hour based on qualifications. The full salary range for this position
is $27.03 - $37.06 per hour. The City of De Pere rewards employees for exceptional work performance with a pay for
performance incentive program. Employees may be awarded a salary increase, bonus, or paid-time off for
exceptional work performance.
Typical Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 6:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. and Friday 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., plus additional
hours as needed for emergencies and snow plow operations. This position will rotate working weekends during the
summer for pool maintenance. This position will typically work every 3rd weekend from June - August and will
typically work 3-6 hours on the Saturday and Sunday; this is in addition to regular hours and may be flexed. The City
of De Pere recognizes the importance of its employees having a proper work-life balance and supports alternative
work arrangements which include alternative work schedules (i.e., four 10-hour days or five 8-hour days).
