Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Cable/End User Device (EUD) technician to join our team in Augusta, Ga.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

The Cable/End User Device (EUD) technician will provide cable infrastructure support, lead small teams as needed, and train others on the same. When not performing cable tasks will support EUD installation efforts. With demonstrated proficiency, may serve as the senior cable technician for the team, and lead a defined small team.

  • Must have experience in all facets of network installations, which includes the physical placement of conduit, CAT5 and fiber optic cable, wall jacks, hardware, racks and communications equipment as required
  • Also includes but is not limited to: surveys, installing other conveyances, pulling and terminating cable, determining and implementing required pin outs, installing and configuring equipment chase, cards power supplies, racks, patch panels, etc., testing and documenting installations, dressing and labeling cables, racks, patch panels, etc.
  • Must comply with all customer, program, and company policies and procedures.
  • Updates cable database and creates/provides other documents as required.
  • Completes work orders, material transfer forms, and other documentation required.

When not performing cabling tasks, will support EUD activities:

  • Provides installation/troubleshooting support to network devices, VOIP phones, teleconferencing, AVMM, printers, desktop computers and other hardware devices as requested.
  • Supports refresh, modernization, project, and STO activities as required.
  • Travels to support regional tail site requirements as needed (average is 5-10%)
  • Follows all proper processes of equipment classification sanitization.
  • Stages, organizes, performs labor on, and moves hardware.
  • Conducts equipment surveys and inventories.
  • Assists in the dismantling, sorting of components, and disposing of retired equipment.
  • Provides assistance in maintaining material accounting and process related records to ensure 100% accountability for items processed.
  • Provides assistance to the logistical services in processing of equipment and tracking equipment statuses and history in Agency databases.
  • Installs and configures computer workstations, servers, printers, peripherals, and teleconferencing equipment and completes associated cabling requirements.
  • Conducts sites surveys; assesses and documents current site configuration and user requirements.
  • Provides labor for the physical and logistical efforts in non-technical tasks required for hardware and other electronic equipment.

Required Qualifications:

  • Position requires: Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience
  • 3-4 years of telecommunications installation experience.
  • Must have a thorough understanding of EIA/ TIA Standards.
  • Will have a thorough working knowledge of most widely used installation, termination and testing procedures along with the use of any associated hardware and equipment.
  • A+/Net+ within 12 months of hire if working EUD tasks more than 50% of the time

Preferred Qualification:

  • BICSI Certification preferred/not required. Industry Certifications a plus. (i.e. CommScope, Hilti, Tyco, Panduit, etc.)
  • Fiber optic cabling experience to include termination, testing and troubleshooting preferred/not required.

Security Requirements:  Candidate must have Top Secret SCI Clearance with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
