The Role

The Technical Instructor - Mathematics requires an experienced and motivated self-starter who is able to work effectively with minimal supervision. Good organisational and communication skills are essential. In view of the requirement to liaise with Commonwealth representatives and those from other organisations, good diplomacy and negotiation skills are essential.

Reporting to the Training Manager West responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Significant time facilitating classroom instruction of Defence trainees
  • Complete the required assessment documents and as necessary ensure the Learner Management System (LMS) is updated correctly
  • Deliver remedial and tutorial instruction as required
  • Invigilate and mark examinations and project work related to the delivery of technical training modules
  • Undertake course maintenance and refinement of assessment material
  • Development of training manuals, lesson management guides and classroom instructional material.
  • Write examination questions for technical training modules.
  • Validate training and assessment documentation as required in accordance with the Assessment Validation Policy.
  • Undertake ongoing professional development for the purpose of developing vocational education and training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as maintaining industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.

Required Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge

  • Substantial experience relevant to the area of primary employment.
  • Sound knowledge of Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015
  • Understand the principles of adult learning
  • Considerable experience facilitating, monitoring and reviewing e-learning delivered via electronic media
  • Sound knowledge of the National Vocational Education and Training Framework
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Core Skills Framework
  • Experience in curriculum development
  • Australian Citizen with a current AGSVA clearance or the ability to obtain one

Fraud Alert

Fraud has infiltrated the job placement market via the internet, email and direct phone contact.
