AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Environmental Engineer to join our Remediation team in Florida in either the Orlando, Tallahassee, or Jacksonville office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients.
This position is expected to begin in October 2021.

AECOM’s Energy practice provides a wide range of services from consulting and engineering design to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) for power, energy efficiency, and renewable energy clients. Our understanding of the big picture – and the interconnection between generation, distribution, storage, and behind the meter services – allows us to deliver holistic strategies that improve and modernize next generation energy infrastructure. The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Provide reliable, flexible engineering services in the field and office.
Perform field sampling and other tasks at a variety of sites including hazardous waste sites.
Perform engineering design and supporting calculations. Be able to perform basic hydrologic/hydraulic and geotechnical design calculations and develop appropriate details for open channels, stormwater management systems, etc. Be able to develop grading plans.
Prepare Remedial Investigation/Feasibility Studies (RI/FS) under the direction of senior staff.
Conduct research including obtaining vendor quotes to develop detailed cost estimates.
Prepare detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project.
Prepare cost estimates using existing databases.
Provide field sketches and coordinate with GIS and CAD staff to develop figures and drawings.
Research innovative remediation technologies and evaluate their suitability to existing projects.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable meeting with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 – 2 hour drive of home office, and occasionally further.
Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
Strong research and report writing (including web-based research).
Strong calculation skills.
Excellent written and verbal skills.
Strong quality and time management.
Self-starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative.
Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work.
