Job Summary

AECOM’s Electrical Engineering team is actively seeking a creative, highly talented, highly motivated Electrical Engineer for immediate employment in the Arlington, VA office. The Engineer will support multi-disciplinary design projects for a multitude of building types.

Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a technical resource and serves as a technical advisor for the team

  • Provides specialized technical input to studies and design for area of expertise.

  • Develops and leads study and design procedures to facilitate high quality, cost effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Reviews construction cost estimates.

  • Uses expertise in all steps of completing discipline component of design package.

  • Performs design calculations, prepares contract drawings and specifications.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations, drawings, and specifications.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

Minimum Requirements

  • Based on the nature of the work U.S. citizen is required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Professional Engineer licensure

  • Minimum of six (6) years of related experience in power and lighting design

  • Knowledge of NFPA, Building Codes, ASME A17.1, and Energy Codes

  • Proficient with Revit, AutoCAD, SKM Power Tools/ETAP, AGI32/ELUME, Comchek, Microsoft Office Package

Preferred Qualifications

  • LEED certification (or certification track)

  • Exceptional analysis and written and oral communication skills

  • Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities

  • Positive outlook and can-do attitude approach to tasks and teamwork

  • Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams

  • Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail

  • Effective problem solving and analytical skills
