AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Construction Engineer for employment in the Arlington, Virginia office. This position will support the Program and Project Management business group at AECOM.
This full-time position is expected to begin September/October of 2021. Please note AECOM may offer the option to work remote or out of other AECOM office locations, however a candidate local to Virginia is preferred.

DCS—Program and Project Management

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:
Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, perform engineering related calculations, develop drawings and visual aids, use procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
Communicate and work with other project team members and various client representatives to provide quality service to clients and to ensure that all documentation conforms to client/company standards.
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Work independently or as part of a team working closely with the Project Manager in reviewing and advising on all aspects of construction services
Assist with field inspections to evaluate the work performed and materials used.
Maintain organized, detailed and up-to-date field office files to be readily accessible by AECOM and the client
Assist with construction administration, tracking and review of submittals, RFIs (request for information), and change orders.
Attend construction meetings
Assist in coordinating construction activities between the Owner, Contractors and other stakeholders
Bachelor’s degree in Construction engineering, Civil engineering, construction management or other related field required
Displays knowledge and abilities to evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria to meet basic engineering and construction specifications
Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Familiar with and able to read contract plans, construction drawings and specifications
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) preferred
Knowledge of standard engineering techniques and procedures
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational, technical and communication skills
Ability to work independently or within a team environment
