IT Project Support Specialist

KBR is looking to hire an IT Project Support Specialist for the NASA Goddard IT Integration and Support Services (GITISS) contract in Greenbelt, MD. On our team of integrated, mission-focused personnel, you’ll work side-by-side with our NASA customers to meet their evolving needs and tackle the exciting challenges that come with supporting NASA, the number one place to work in the Federal Government.

The successful candidate will be well organized, a strong writer, and be effective at coordinating team activities. Responsibilities :

The IT Project Support Specialist will work as a member of a cloud computing team to support the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). The IT Project Support Specialist will have the following responsibilities:

  • Coordinate work tickets for team members, verifying tasks are assigned and completed.
  • Gathering data and completing a variety of regular reports.
  • Provide support, including review/update/approvals to strategic sourcing and governance of IT purchases at GSFC
  • Attend regular team and customer meetings, capturing notes and publishing those notes to the team repository.
  • Responding to written and voiced customer questions, answering simple questions and ensuring more complicated questions are answered by the appropriate team member.
  • Documenting frequently asked questions in an online repository.


  • Excellent organization skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills, and ability to document outputs from meetings and interactions with both team members and customers
  • A strong work ethic
  • Experience in coordinating team activities
  • Proven ability to coordinating the activities of others (e.g. help desk, coach, teacher, manager, etc.)
  • Strong customer focus to respond quickly to customer needs
  • The attitude of a self-starter with willingness to reach out to points of contact to obtain necessary information, meeting attendance, and participation.
  • Basic familiarity with IT and office computing applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, Teams, Jira, etc.).
  • Prior NASA Experience is preferred.
  • Ability to learn and work with new project management software.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop successful relationships with varied personalities.
  • Individual must meet government NAC and citizenship requirements for access to NASA IT. Extensive background investigation will be performed as a requirement of the job.

Education and Experience:

  • Experience that shows the ability to coordinate a teams activities (may include professional and volunteer experience)
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree desired
  • NASA experience desired
