Project Manager Level II

KBR is looking for a Project Manager (PM) to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting the readiness and sustainment of Air Force aircraft and missile systems. This is a full-time position located in the KBR Clearfield, Utah.

The candidate will provide project oversight with specific responsibilities associated with aircraft sustainment and modernization projects at the component, assembly, LRU or SRU level. The PM will be responsible for multiple projects addressing reliability, sustainment, DMSMS issues, obsolescence, reverse engineering, and redesign. Establishes and defines project plan requirements and directs or performs in-depth studies to determine optimum project plans. Coordinates interdepartmental development of project plans. Interfaces with vendors and customers and performs extensive investigations as required. Monitors and reports performance against plans to ensure that contractual, cost and schedule objectives are met; arranges modifications as required.

Many projects will involve performing analysis of System Requirements and historical performance, developing potential alternatives including cost benefit tradeoffs, managing Design, Prototype Development, Qualification Testing (ground and flight) and integration for the preferred alternative. Projects may include ensuring Airworthiness, Reliability Centered Maintenance, Condition Based Maintenance (CBM+), and future sustainability and repair capabilities are integrated into the product.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements for the position:

  • Bachelors Degree in engineering, science, business administration or equivalent experience.
  • 8 years of related experience and a minimum of 3 years of Project Management or IPT Leader experience
  • Experience with technical program planning and implementation, contract interpretation, budget development and administration of government projects.
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of Aircraft systems and projects
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and innovate solutions
  • Strong verbal, technical writing, and communication skills
  • Strong organizational and personal skills

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited University
  • Experience in developing system design and performance requirements, prototype development
  • Experience in qualification testing and product integration
  • Proficiency with MS Project and building and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules
  • Successful past performance in managing complex USAF weapons system/engineering projects
  • Project Management Professional PMI Certification
  • Proficient in Earned Value Management
  • Experience in leading Integrated Product Teams

  • This position will require some travel.
