Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Manager for immediate employment in the Franklin, TN office's Transportation group.

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for:

  • Performing a wide array of civil design, planning, construction support, and client management services for clients. Projects may fall outside the transportation realm and involve general civil engineering projects as well'

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all aspects of small and large multi-discipline projects that may include: design of roadways, bridges, sidewalk improvements, site development, and drainage. Also may include aviation projects on both airside and landside.

  • Mentor and develop staff, provide leadership and an environment that encourages teamwork, initiative, and growth.

  • Guide project teams on complex technical issues.

  • Supervision, coordination, and production of several projects concurrently.

  • Builds and maintains positive client relationships.

  • Involved in marketing/business development including the ability to market and win work.

  • Develop strategy, prepare proposals, negotiate contracts, and execute projects.

  • Coordinate staffing plan and workload through the entire project development duration while meeting project schedules and budgets.

  • Control overall project cost and scope, schedule, and quality of work.

  • Implement project QA/QC and work with Finance & Accounting, Controller, Department Manager, or Managing Principles for project reviews.

  • Preparation of engineering design reports, project definition documents, construction plans, and contract documents / technical specifications

  • Collaborating and/or coordinating design teams consisting of multi-discipline design engineers and technicians.

  • Coordination with clients, funding agencies, and local permit Agencies.

  • Responsible for the overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project-specific objectives and policies.

  • Provides management and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies and is a primary liaison between AECOM and client interface.

  • Oversees and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors.

  • Responsible for administering the project from the budgeting/schedule stage through procurement and contract closeout. The position has significant profit/loss responsibility for the assigned projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science

  • Six (6) years of transportation civil engineering project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • One (1) year experience preparing Project Reports, Feasibility Studies, and PS&Es for Transportation and/or Civil/Site projects

  • One (1) year experience marketing/selling services to clients

  • Available to travel to clients and projects in Tennessee and other states within the region

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS Civil Engineering

  • Ten (10) years of project management in the transportation market sector

  • Experience with all types of transportation projects including surface transportation and aviation

  • Experience with civil/site design related projects

  • Experience with Design-Build projects

  • Professional Engineer License in TN (or ability to obtain within 6 months
