Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission and customer-oriented 508 Developer/Tester to join our team in the Washington D.C. area.  


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Build web pages using the content management system (CMS) to ensure 508 standards and consistency are met across all of the client's websites 

  • Create customizable document logic using the content management system 

  • Create User Interface (UI) pages  

  • Responsible for design/test expertise to ensure that web page design conforms to industry and DHS standards 

  • Work with development teams to establish areas that need to be addressed to ensure accessibility and usability of the IT application or functions

  • Committed to providing excellent quality products and customer service 

  • Conduct Section 508 testing via manual reviews, automated test tools, and assistive technologies 

  • Conduct Section 508 compliance testing applications, mobile applications, systems and solutions and providing reports and/or demonstrations of findings

  • Support development and delivery of presentation materials to be used to increase awareness of the overall Section 508 program and to facilitate planning for other aspects of the initiative, including separate efforts to remediate findings, support continuing reporting requirements, and support the posting and management of information related to the implementation of Section 508 standards 

  • Assigned contractor resources must be up to date on the latest DHS trusted tester certification or must obtain the most current DHS certified trusted tester certification within 90 days of being assigned to the project

  • Assigned contractor resources must maintain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) certification for the duration of the work order, including any extensions of the SOO

  • Ensure projects are completed to deadlines while making the manager and/or team aware if deadlines are at risk 


Required Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of (7) years’ experience with development / testing of the 508 compliances 

  • Experience and performing complete Section 508 testing on electronic documents and web-based applications based upon Section 508 requirements and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 and utilizing Section 508 Testing Templates for documentation 

  • Experience with SCORM technical standards 

  • Knowledge of Section 508 requirements for IT software, and testing and development best practices, guidelines, and testing methodologies Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 

  • Able to analyze specifications and design documentations, test strategies, test plans, and user acceptance criteria 

  • Able to create and organize, test plans, test sets, and test executions, run automated smoke testing, positive and negative tests, functional tests, and front-end and back-end test scenarios

  • Able to create, update, and maintain system integration testing, user acceptance testing, regression testing, API testing, and data-driven automated testing scenarios 

  • Able to communicate effectively over assessment findings and process information to different audience is a clearly and effectively 

  • Bachelor’s degree  

  • Certification: Section 508 Trusted Tester required 


Desired Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of (5) years’ experience with development / testing of the 508 compliances 

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Scrum Software Development methodologies with a cross-functional team approach  

  • Testing experience on software application with 508 compliance requirements using tools such as Job Access with Speech (JAWS), ANDI, SortSite, Color and Contrast Checker, Microsoft Inspect, Microsoft AccEvent, or Oracle Java Access Inspector+ 

  • Must have or obtain expertise in web programming and development for federal requirements including 508 compliance and Shareable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) conformance 

  • Master’s degree  

  • Trusted Tester V5 (DHS) certification required 


Clearance Requirements: 

  • Top Secret w/SCI 


Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time 

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel 

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer 

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 

The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
