Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission and customer oriented UX Designer to join our team in the Washington D.C. area.  

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Responsible for user experience, user workflow, design and 508 compliance 

  • Shall provide options and recommend changes based on current design standards and trends 

  • Development of map-based web applications including implementation of new capabilities and bug fixes 

  • Responsible for developing applications software for small to highly complex computer systems or portions of large integrated systems and/or for providing analysis and engineering of functional aspects of software and hardware architecture and system support 

  • Prepare detailed specifications from which software products will be designed and/or candidate will translate documented designs into software products by developing, documenting, testing, and debugging code 

  • Work with business stakeholders to oversee and identify process opportunities 

  • Works closely with development teams to create and improve interactive applications and web pages 

  • Apply user-centered design principles to products and services. 

  • Perform story boarding in support of pipeline and platform implementation. 

  • Take self-initiative to remain knowledgeable and practiced in emerging cloud-based technologies and trends 

  • Collaborate as a member of an agile team to work in design sprints, including collaborative sketching, rapid prototyping, giving, and accepting feedback on your designs, and tracking your own work in task management 

  • Develop UI sketches, wireframes, and prototypes 

  • Act as a resource for Section 508 accessibility issues as they relate to requirements, design, and implementation 

  • Provide superior customer service; possess strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills in a dynamic customer centric environment. 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of (8) years of experience as a Business Analyst with UX designer, information architect, interaction designer, or similar role working on large-scale custom applications  

  • Experience with applications that deal with utility programs, job control language, macro, subroutines, and other control modules  

  • Demonstrated expertise in  

  • user-centered and user experience design 

  • Integration with data stores 

  • Integration with restful services 

  • implementing and configuring visualization tools 

  • Agile development processes 

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills 

  • BS degree in human computer interaction or design 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • MS degree in human computer interaction or design, with 5-7 years of related experience 

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps technologies such as Docker, GitLab, Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, Nexus, Artifactory, SonarQube, Grafana, ArgoCD, etc. 

  • Demonstrated work experience with source control and code repository tools. 

 

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Top Secret w/SCI 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time 

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel 

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer 

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
