Overview:
Security 1 Solutions is seeking Access Control Personnel to work at the Naval Surface Warfare Center at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. Access Control Personnel (APC) assigned to each building shall work from a fixed access/egress post (front desk) and monitor anyone entering the building. Each access control personnel shall aid in the early reporting of emergencies, and provide directions and informational assistance to employees, visitors, and guests.

ACPs are tasked with issuing and recording visitor passes, maintaining duty logs, and recording visitor ingress and egress. Access Control Personnel are required to ensure all doors and entryways remain closed and are properly secured when not in use by building patrons.

Mandatory qualifications:
Valid Active Secret clearance eligibility for immediate placement.
or
Secret level sponsorship for eligibility candidates who agree to specific pre-defined employment conditions (to be discussed during pre-screening interviews).

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or a GED equivalency certificate.
Three (3) years of similar or directly related work experience within the past five years; or
Three (3) years of military or National Guard (active duty or reserve) experience.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
required to submit to pre-employment medical exam and drug screening.
must pass an NLIC/State/Local Background check and Credit check (as applicable).

Required Skills & Certifications
Be at least 21 years of age.
Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
Social Security Card issued and approved by the Social Security Administration.
Must be able to withstand the physical demands of the job and must be capable of responding to emergencies.
Speak English fluently, read and comprehend written English, and compose coherent written reports in English. Bilingual access control personnel may be an asset, but the personnel must
have a good command of the English language.
Ability to use CCTV

Responsibilities
Must be mentally alert and physically ready to operate and enforce the Government's system of personnel identification and access/egress control.
Shall be knowledgeable of the location and use of the nearest first aid kit, fire extinguisher, fire alarm, emergency exit, and duress alarm (if any), and shall be ready, willing and able to use
them as necessary.
Process visitors by verifying visitors' identification, contacting agency sponsors or escorts, fabricating and issuing visitor passes, entering and maintaining data on visitor logs or automated
visitor data base programs, and ensuring visitors are presented for appropriate personnel and package screening.
Responsible for operating/monitoring the closed circuit television (CCTV). Required to have prior experience working with this equipment.
Answer questions and provide directions to visitors and building tenants.
Prior to arriving on duty, each access control personnel shall be familiar with the name, address, location, and orders of their assigned building/area of assignment. Each access control
personnel shall be familiar with each tenant Agency's name and the locations within the facility of the most commonly sought-after offices or locations, such as service offices, restrooms,
elevators, entrances and exits and parking areas, and shall provide that information to any visitor upon request.
ACPs shall abide by all health related, security policies and procedures implemented by NSWCPD and higher authorities due to COVID 19.
Maintain safe and hazard-free conditions
Immediately report all potentially hazardous conditions and items in need of repair.
Summon the appropriate professional assistance in the event of injury or illness to Government employees or others while in the building or on the grounds.
Prepare and record infractions, issues, and provide documentation to those officials specified by the Technical Point of Contact.
Be in uniform and ready to begin work promptly at the start of each shift and shall remain on the job and in full uniform until the end of full tour of duty.
May perform other related duties as assigned by a security Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
