Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission and customer oriented Virtual Engineer to join our team in the Washington D.C. area.  

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Provide virtualization, enterprise storage, and enterprise disaster recovery engineering, support with minimal supervision 

  • Responsible for designing and configuring virtual environments and implementation plans for hosting complex application workloads 

  • Provides critical operational insight current workload and upcoming requirements validate infrastructure can support mission. 

  • Maintains STIG/harden/patch virtual environment as required 

  • Monitors virtual environment for issues and remediate problems 

  • Conduct operations and maintenance of hypervisors, virtual machines, centralized management appliances, SAN/NAS storage devices, and client/server disaster recovery servers 

  • When assigned, support the directory services, messaging, collaboration, and monitoring activities

  • Perform hardening and security engineering support when assigned. Be responsible for defining and analyzing system requirements and developing specifications

  • Direct the implementation of patch management 

  • Support the development of procedures and checklists

  • Perform other duties which may include engineering studies and client / server or Internet/intranet applications, messaging, systems engineering, systems integration, network monitoring, virtualization networking and infrastructure support 

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering  

  • A minimum of (5) years of related experience  

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Scrum Software Development methodologies with a cross-functional team approach 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering 

  • Certification in VDI technology 

  • Certification in Storage virtualization technology 

  • A minimum of (3) three years of related experience  

  • Enterprise experience of virtualization technology, storage arrays, and backup solutions 

 

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Top Secret w/SCI 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time 

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel 

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer 

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
