Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission and customer-oriented Database Specialist to join our team in the Washington D.C. area.  

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods 

  • Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end/back-end programming languages 

  • Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment 

  • Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function 

  • Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data 

  • Responsibilities Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design 

  • Provides expertise in transitioning from on premise system to the Cloud 

  • Work with other DBAs, Systems Administrators, Network Administrators, Storage Administrators, Enterprise Security Team, Backup Administrators, and application developers to resolve various system issues  

 

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-10 years of experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or other related experience 

  • Excellent communicator, both verbally and written, with an ability to understand and discuss highly technical subjects to multiple levels of internal and external leadership 

  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree with 3-5 years of related experience 

  • ITIL 4 Certification 

  • Database Certifications in SQL, Oracle, or equivalent a plus 

 

Clearance Requirements: 

  • Top Secret w/SCI 

 

Physical Requirements: 

  • Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time 

  • Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel 

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer 

  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management, and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations 

  • The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
