Role has responsibility for Transportation Operations cost within the North American Region. The role leads all process improvement and execution rituals to optimize North American transportation productivity and cost. Facilitates tactical & strategic problem resolution for cost reductions on the NA Transportation P&L. The position is responsible for the financial analysis on utilization, mix, carrier performance, rate variances and will own the execution of actions to drive continuous improvements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Owner of all cost savings initiatives including project work, routines and rituals around daily execution and tactical cost mitigation
Manages Intermodal Mode Mix vs Truck through compliance and capacity sourcing
Optimize network through customization of mini-bids and forecasting tools
Owner of productivity new project development and pipeline
Develop seasonal/holiday/QE/YE Capacity strategies
Deliver Budget expectations of sales freight cost for North America through contracted and spot market carrier pricing
Cost savings through sustainable continuous improvement and execution of operational CSave projects
Manage Compliance to Award through daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly business reviews with our carrier base
Manage Routing Guide Effectiveness through function process improvement, daily routines and rituals around planning and execution
Manage carrier performance metrics (EDI Compliance, OTD and OTPU) through daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly business reviews

Required Skills / Experience / Competencies:
Bachelor degree required, preferably in Operations Management or Supply Chain discipline
Strong analytic skills; the ability to powerfully portray data and leverage to drive continuous improvement
Excellent verbal and written communication skills across the organization
Demonstrated project management skills
Change management skills
The ability to build business partnerships and external collaboration opportunities wherever possible
Experience with a TMS system (Kewill, BluJay, etc)
Knowledgeable with EDI transactions
Software required:  Microsoft Office including Sharepoint, SAP and TMS
