Title:

Lead Security Specialist

KBR is looking for a Lead Security Specialist to support the Science and Space Business Unit. The Lead Security Specialist will process and coordinate all aspects of security clearances and access to facilities world-wide. Activities include managing and coordinating Special Access with various governmental entities. Position may be remote.

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Must maintain eligibility for access to classified national security information which may include a polygraph examination

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Government, Company, and Customer-specific security requirements are effectively implemented
  • Coordinate with internal and external customers to determine program-related security requirements
  • Have direct and on-going interaction with governmental oversight and program-related activities
  • Maintain a program to ensure Special Access and SCI billets are properly and effectively managed
  • Investigation of security infractions, preparation of reports to both internal and external customers
  • Communicates effectively with government customer and management to present clear technical approaches for complex personnel security matters
  • Serve as a security advisor to KBR’s Program Manager and 4 POTFF Regional Directors
  • Maintain security records for over 600 cleared employees, at over 27 different locations

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8 + years of experience in a DoD, DoE, or other industrial security program
  • Demonstrated exceptional understanding and working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program and DoD Regulations
  • 4 + years of experience working with SOCOM, and/or subordinate commands
  • Working knowledge of ACCMs and SAPs
  • Possess a solid understanding of the governmental decision-making process and previous experience articulating and briefing government customer and management
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with quick and accurate responses while being customer service focus
  • Ability to present clear technical approaches for complex personnel security matters
  • Experience in ICD-704 SCI eligibility and nomination process. Must be able to coordinate with several SSO locations to schedule SCI indoctrinations
  • Provide annual security training per NISPOM requirements
  • Previous experience with e-QIP. Must be able to initiate, review and submit employee SF-86s
  • Strong organization skills, ability to maintain a large number of security records for cleared employees at multiple different locations
  • Experience with the government Common Access Card (CAC) process. Able to complete required CAC forms, work with government Trusted Agents in order to get employee CACs
  • Ability to meet contract deliverable demands in a timely manner and work with government customer on security matters affecting contract
