Junior Design Engineer

KBR is looking for a Junior Design Engineer to support SWFO & GOES-R system configuration/layout and documentation generation.

The Junior Design Engineer will work with senior engineering staff providing:

  • Designs and/or research subsystem interfaces to ensure that subsystems are integrated and work together to form a viable complete system.
  • Troubleshoot and repair IT hardware
  • Support network deployment and troubleshooting
  • Provide facility support (coordination, planning, research, configuration implementation, etc.)

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Planning and Conceptual design of equipment rack layouts
  • Generation of engineering drawings (racks, facility, etc.)
  • Generation of as build documentation
  • Publication and distribution as needed
  • Configuration management support
  • Rack configuration/deployment support
  • Logistic Support
  • May participate as a team member of multiple teams
  • May act as primary intra-organizational liaison
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
  • Engineering support maybe required for present/future Mission Engineering & Support tasks

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • BS degree in engineering, applied science, or related field
  • 1 + years of related experience
  • In lieu of formal education 9 + years of directly related technical experience.
  • Knowledge/experience with ASME Codes & Standards for drawing creation and management
  • Comprehensive/proficient knowledge/skill using Microsoft VISIO application creating ASME y14 documents
  • Knowledge/experience with CAD drawing application is preferred
  • Good skills and understanding with Microsoft Desk Top Applications: Word, Excel, Power Point.
  • Strong understanding of IT hardware and operating systems (configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Network router/switch knowledge/skills is a plus
  • Basic facility knowledge is a plus (structural, HVAC, electrical)
