Job Summary

AECOM 's Austin, TX office is seeking a mid-level Environmental Engineer, responsible for the planning, design and construction phases of public works project in Central Texas.

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Technical lead for multi-discipline teams to undertake water and wastewater treatment and pumping projects;

  • Prepare technical memoranda, planning studies and final design calculations, plans and specifications;

  • Manage construction phases of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with the Contract Documents, on-time and within budget;

  • Ensure project work is undertaken in accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems;

  • Provide direction and oversight to junior staff in order to manage the technical aspects of a project in order to achieve deliverable milestones.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering (Master's preferred)

  • 5-7+ years experience in water and wastewater treatment design

  • Professional Engineer registration in Texas

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Knowledge of local codes, development processes, and utility regulations
