Job Summary

AECOM is looking for an Interior Designer with innate creativity and knowledge of interior design standards to execute a wide range of design deliverables including high-quality renderings/illustrations, detailed 3D models, space planning, and selection of FF&E to be based in Chicago, Illinois.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Designs creative and innovative interior environments that support our clients’ needs in collaboration with Interior Design Director/Senior Interior Designer

  • Initiates and develops design and construction document drawings through completion in conformance with project requirements, applicable codes, and design criteria established by project leadership.

  • Collaborate in a team environment to development and enhance design solutions.

  • Basic knowledge of design, trends, construction methodology, materials application and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness

  • Basic knowledge of furniture, fixture and equipment (FF&E), architectural/interior finishes, lighting, art signage, color and materials to carryout design intent

  • Effectively communicates internally with project teams and externally with consultants and clients through timely and appropriate written, oral, and visual means.

  • Ability to maintain conformance with client standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.

  • Ability to prioritize and work collaboratively on multiple projects at once.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 YORE or AA/AS (US) + 4 YORE or Diploma/Certificate (Canada) + 4 YORE or HS/GED + 6 YORE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Architecture or Interior Design, Interior Architecture degree from an accredited university

  • Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite

  • Self-motivated, client focused, and detail orientated.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong capabilities in 3D modeling and architectural visualization software (Enscape, VRay, 3DS Max, etc)

  • Experience in all project phases, from pre-design through project close-out
