Description
Position Summary:

The Manager of Packaging Maintenance is responsible for maintaining all packaging facilities to ensure equipment, facilities and support systems (i.e. HVAC, plumbing) are maintained and in good working order.


Responsibilities:

â?¢ Member of Plant Leadership Team (Lock out, tag out program, fire and safety programs)

â?¢ Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review

â?¢ Initiate, implement, and manage the facility maintenance program based on best practices with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance

â?¢ Maintain inventory of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment; initiate reordering when necessary

â?¢ Maintain and repair maintenance shop equipment

â?¢ Prepare reports, analyzes data, and make recommendations for improving facility operations and solving maintenance-related problems

â?¢ Manage maintenance mechanics and technicians training, ensure personnel is adequately equipped and motivated so the maintenance objectives can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner

â?¢ Communicate regularly with maintenance department, both individually and as a group, to ensure good communication concerning maintenance issues.

â?¢ Maintain and update operating and training manuals

â?¢ Ensure that maintenance personnel are trained on the most updated SOP versions

â?¢ On-going review of facility equipment and systems to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems in a timely manner, and identify opportunities for improvement

â?¢ Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs

â?¢ Track, analyze and improve key maintenance parameters such as asset utilization, maintenance cost, PM compliance, schedule compliance, etc.

â?¢ Maintain safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures

â?¢ Direct, maintain, and enforce the safety program for the maintenance department; review safety records to uphold standards of maximum safety for maintenance personnel

â?¢ Work with multiple departments to meet company objectives

Other responsibilities as assigned by Executive Management




Requirements
Education and Experience:

â?¢ High school or GED diploma required

â?¢ Bachelor's degree preferred

â?¢ Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanics and electrical preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing


Skills and Abilities:

â?¢ Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

â?¢ Expert knowledge of packaging equipment and facility's support systems

â?¢ Basic business writing and computer skills

â?¢ Ability to effectively communicate expectations to employees


Supervisory Responsibilities:

â?¢ Responsible for managing union and nonunion employee


Physical Demands:

â?¢ Required to sit and stand for long periods of time.

â?¢ Frequently reaching with arms/hands up to 2 feet.

â?¢ Required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate controls.

â?¢ Good hand eye coordination.

â?¢ Occasionally required to walk and kneel.

â?¢ Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

â?¢ Must be able to use close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

â?¢ Required to reach with arms and use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and tools

â?¢ Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, bend, sit, talk, hear, climb stairs and ladders


Work Environment:

â?¢ Work environment in production operations facilities include close proximity to heavy machinery and pharmaceutical powders.

â?¢ Potential to move between production operations sites/areas to complete job functions.

â?¢ Hours/Travel maybe subject to changed based on management/company discretion.

â?¢ Indoor manufacturing environment including enclosed areas with dust and loud noises.

â?¢ Employee work hours/schedule and/or shift are subject to change based on business needs and Management discretion

â?¢ Responsible for compliance with all rules and regulations pertaining to safety policies and for leading by example with the proper attitude toward safety and health, helping to ensure that all department operations are performed with the utmost regard for the safety and health for all personnel.
