AEGIS Computer Network Technician (CSCS-21-1113-W):

Bowhead Seeks an AEGIS Computer Network Technician to provide Instructor Support, Curriculum Support, Learning Standards Office Support, Training Aids/Device Support, Analysis and Development Support, Program Management Support, and International Program Support across the Center for Surface Combat Systems (CSCS) for the US Navy and Foreign Military Sales (FMS).
The AEGIS Computer Network Technician would serve as a Journeyman Instructor to train CG/DDG sailors in the performance of preventive and corrective maintenance for the UYQ-70 Local Area Network (LAN), its interface and associated equipment. They should have the ability to train others in the alignment, adjustment, configuration, removal, replacement of the lowest replaceable unit to include diagnostic testing and system validation of the UYQ-70 LAN and all associated equipment. This equipment will include the ADS and CND UYQ-70 Consoles, X-STAB monitors, Bridge Routers to interface other LANs, Fiber Optic Data Distribution and ETHERNET interfaces and their associated File Servers and Application Processors, HP-UX and HP-RT. When required, they would provide subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for ATRC courses supporting present and future courses development of the AEGIS MK-99 AEGIS Fire Control System/MK84 400Hz Power Distribution System/Ballistic Missile Defense Technician courses.


Duties to include but are not limited to:

• Provides dynamic teaching & training as well as assessment that require advanced knowledge of U.S. Navy Aegis Combat Systems Capabilities and Limitations to the officer level.
• Reviews and analyzes U.S. Navy Aegis Combat System Engineering Capabilities and Limitations and U.S. Navy Operational and Tactical doctrine and integrates and conceptualizes the execution of Doctrine optimizing the application of ship's Combat Systems capabilities and limitation in the dynamic operational tactical environment.
• Conducts dynamic assessment of the sailors’ abilities to comply with approved maintenance and operational procedures and thereafter provides formal appraisal of performance with recommendations for improvement and methods to maintain technical and tactical proficiency.
• Observes and assesses contemporaries during Practice and Certification Teaches per requirements NAVEDTRA 135.
• Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guide in support of traditional classroom teaching.
• Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis provides formal feedback and recommendation for Course improvement.
• Documents the training conducted with specifics of the individual areas / watch station and is responsible for generation of a formal assessment of measure of success via written report.
• Develops, tests, maintains and delivers moderately complex Aegis training programs and related materials in support of ATRC training objectives.
• Establishes and reviews course content and objectives.
• Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities.
• Maintains records of training activities, participant progress and program effectiveness.
• Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
• Five (5) years of experience with the required system as either a maintenance technician supervisor or operator supervisor with responsibility for teaching the applicable system or function task to others in a journeyman level training environment. Of the five years, one (1) year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems.
• At least one of the following trainings required: NEC 1335/V42A (ACNT BL 6) or NEC 1318/V36A (ACNT BL 7.2A) or NEC 1339/V44A (ACNT BL 7.2B) or NEC 1345/V50 (ACNT BL 8), NEC 1386/V69A (ACNT BL 9) or NEC 1325/V39A (CEC AN/USG-2 CETPS Technician), and NEC 9502/805A (Instructor).
• Experience Master/Afloat Training Specialist in support of CSCS/TACTRAGRU/ATG is a significant plus.
• Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically


SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
