The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) is an exciting model to work in. Four world class organisations have come together as one team, with Sellafield Ltd, to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) model is changing the way we deliver projects at Sellafield and creating a lasting legacy through long-term partnerships.

The Sellafield nuclear site is home to one of the most complex portfolios of construction and infrastructure projects in the world, stretching over many decades.

The new approach will support the transformation from nuclear operator into a world leader in environmental remediation.

The partnership is made up of four lots and Sellafield Ltd, as 5th Partner, to help deliver the site's decommissioning programme:

  • Kellogg Brown and Root Ltd (KBR) - integration partner
  • Jacobs - design and engineering partner
  • Morgan Sindall Infrastructure - civils construction management partner
  • Doosan Babcock Ltd - process construction management partner

Sellafield Ltd will work collaboratively with the four lot partners, to deliver major projects in support of the site’s 100-year decommissioning programme.

The new approach is set up to support faster, more effective project delivery, stability in design and construction supply chains, greater workforce flexibility, and local economic benefit.

The PPP internship scheme is providing a wide range of rewarding career opportunities to people who face additional barriers to employment but have the enthusiasm and drive to succeed.

Opportunities to join the following teams on PPP

We have 6 different roles available under the PPP internship programme – you can apply for as many roles as you like, just let us know which one interests you in your cover letter!

  • Project Controls : collect data from the Projects and Programme, put it together in one system and then work out what it’s telling us. Will we complete our tasks on time and within budget? Are we falling behind? If we are what can we suggest to fix that? The information that we gather is used to manage lots of different things in construction….including whether or not Projects are built on time, whether they are built within budget, whether they are built safely and whether Projects are built to the correct high standards of quality.
  • Communications Team x 2 : manages all internal and external communications. They are responsible for communicating with stakeholders and keeping priority audiences informed and engaged.
  • Benefit Realisation Team: sets one of the ways we manage how time and resources are invested so that there is a desirable change. It also monitors, tracks, and manages the collective set of benefits associated with the programme.
  • Portfolio, Programme and Project Management P3M stands for Portfolio, Programme and Project Management and oversee live projects and those that are planned. The team also oversees several initiatives that spans across all projects and offer improvement or coordination services.
  • Project Controls & Commercial Services (PCCS) The PCCS Team supply around 180 personnel over circa 110 projects to support Sellafield in the delivery of differing workstreams. Within PCCS there are Project Controls (Estimating, Cost Control, Planning, Risk & Project Control Management), Commercial service (Quantity Surveyors, Contract Management & Procurement Specialists). We also provide Project Management and other sundry services.

Process

  • Potential candidates invited to apply for intern positions with interviews held early January 2022
  • February/March 2022 - progression phase of internship - lasts 6 months and interns are paid 25hours per week at National Living Wage
  • Internship commences – September 2022 to August 2023 – Role lasts for 12 months; hours increase to 32 hours pw.
  • Closing date for applications is 17 December 2021

Training

We encourage all interns to partake in training that is suitable to the team in which they are based putting you in the best possible position to securing an apprenticeship within PPP at the end of the internship.

Fraud Alert
