We are looking for Railway Civils Design Engineers to support the execution of a large portfolio of local and international railway projects. The Engineers will be responsible for developing designs through various project stages for general civils within the railway environment relating to drainage, earthworks, retaining walls, platforms, buildings, concrete and steel structures, car parks and access roads, etc. They will undertaking coordination, and carrying out design documentation while working as part of a project team. They will perform specific and limited portions of broader assignments as experienced engineers. Guide Graduate Engineers, provide design input to CAD/BIM technicians, and work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and tests.
The role will require the engineers to contribute to the development of technical proposals. Develop designs by gathering, correlating, and analysing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards. When possible, collect and analyse information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models. Fully develop design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs within project timelines. They will participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including BIM spatial reviews (virtual walkthroughs and clash detection). Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, specific discipline BIM models, drawings, reports, and tender documents. Identify discrepancies in results and propose approaches to solving new problems encountered. They will perform work under agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision. Coordinate with other discipline engineers as applicable for design processes continuity. Maintain and develop the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions. They will also be required to coordinate with authorities for scheme approvals.
Demonstrable experience and understanding of railway civil infrastructure and their design.
Computer literate and conversant with MS Office suite and relevant engineering software packages that may include Bentley Microstation, Autodesk Civil 3D, and Autodesk AutoCAD.
Ability to undertake railway civils designs using appropriate design software packages such as Autodesk Civil 3D.
Good communication skills and ability to work within a collaborative environment, whilst having a dedicated approach to working within and meeting strict project deadlines.
Good communication skills to handle interactions with internal design teams, Clients, and partners.
Client focused approach to service delivery.
Four years' post qualification experience.
