SAIC is seeking an exceptional individual to support the Air Force's next generation Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) weapon system acquisition. Our customer is the Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) Program Office located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. This is a long-term project with the weapon system anticipated to remain operational until 2075. This is a massive development effort with many opportunities. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a willingness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. This position requires the ability to work efficiently under minimal supervision, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reports to the Nuclear Surety lead and serves on the nuclear surety and nuclear certification teams.
Provides technical quality and content oversight for critical software systems, including identifying, minimizing and managing risks.
Ensures engineering products are consistent.
Provides exceptional engineering support to the government customer.
Interface with weapon system design, test, certification, authorization, and independent verification and validation agencies.
Developing and managing schedules, preparing status reports, and reviewing status of projects with BAE Systems and government customer management teams.
Bachelors in Engineering or closely-related technical field and 7 years or more experience; Masters and three (5) years or more experience.
Experience with software engineering, including software verification, validation, and test
Excellent cognitive, communication (both written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated self-discipline to plan and prioritize their own work with successful results
Current DoD Secret clearance, must be able to obtain a Top Secret clearance
