AECOM is seeking an experienced environmental engineer with strong technical experience to work within a team to perform technical work, field investigations, field construction management, and manage tasks. The work is out of our Oakland CA office. We seek a technically proficient individual that has strong technical capabilities and demonstrated experience successfully addressing the investigation and remediation of contaminated sites, including experience with developing conceptual site models (CSMs) that detail contaminant sources, nature and extent, migration pathways, fate and transport mechanisms, remedial technologies, remedial design, plans and specification preparation, and risk management. A successful candidate must be able to write and convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner. Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills will be necessary to work in our collaborative team-oriented offices; strong interpersonal skills are a must.
Specific responsibilities include:
Working within a team of technical experts and leading teams to successful outcomes to meet clients’ needs
Developing clear and defensible CSMs for complex sites ranging from uplands to contaminated sediments
Evaluating complex environmental data sets, including the use of modeling and statistics
Experience with complex flow and contaminant transport in hydrogeological and fluvial systems
Experience with remedial technology selection, remedial design, and remediation construction.
Experience preparing plans and specifications used for project bidding and construction.
Data visualization and developing clear graphics able to convey technical concepts in an understandable manner
Preparing, work plans, and technical reports, and presentations for technical meetings with clients and regulators
Understanding of CERCLA, RCRA, state regulations, and waste management requirements
Engaging in regular client communication relating to project management and technical issues
Actively communicating with the technical team and Project Manger
Assisting with proposals including understanding client/project needs and aligned scopes, schedules, and budgets
Project Field and Office Support for Site Assessment and Remediation Projects.
Work on interesting, fast-paced projects with the opportunity to learn and expand skills.
Work directly with project manager to complete management related project tracking and tasks.
Analytical data analysis.
Evaluation of alternatives.

Bachelor's Degree in Environmental, Civil or Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
Valid U.S. Driver's License.
Willingness and ability to work outdoors in sometimes challenging conditions.
Good interpersonal and communication skills, comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues and sub-contractors alike.
Flexible with working hours and locations, frequent travel within 1 – 2 hrs drive of home office, and occasionally further.
Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks.
Perform task management duties with the desire to learn and develop project management skills and train under AECOM certified PMs
Strong research and report writing (including web based research).
