Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented System Operations and Platform Engineering - GDC to join our team in Culpepper, VA or Miami, FL. There will also be 50% travel to Colorado.

 

In this role, you will assist in launching and supporting deployed Google Private Cloud implementations. You will have an opportunity to influence the design and direction of all aspects of the IaaS of Google Private Cloud.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Understanding all aspects of the platform, its features, and how customers create and operate workloads that it supports. Internalize issues (scalability, quality, etc) and come up with a plan to address them.
  • Troubleshooting system and application issues, including containerized microservices and VM workloads.
  • Collaborating with PMs, TPMs, Support and an external vendor (HPE/Cisco/Netapps) to streamline support and ensuring that the team is focused on highest priority items 
  • Developing order portal, tooling for automation and SLA dashboards. Develop support scenarios and solutions. Help L2 and L3 troubleshooting. 
  • Contributing to scaling the product, both in terms of processes and in terms of support software stack 

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting Unix/Linux operating systems.
  • Scripting experience in writing/modifying code to improve monitoring and automation(Python, Perl, Shell, etc.).
  • Experience in configuration management and automation efforts with technical troubleshooting and performance tuning experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with configuration Management tools.
  • Building/running monitoring pipelines and monitoring/debugging infrastructure issues.
  • Root-causing problems in networking, storage, operating systems, etc.
  • Knowledge of Operating System internals, L2/L3/L4 networking and Storage appliance internals.
  • Understanding of Cloud technologies and enterprise Compute environment with virtualization and cloud hosting experience.
  • Experience with Enterprise or Datacenter Network architecture.
  • Experience with physical deployment and troubleshooting of networking infrastructure,

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
  • Constantly operates a computer.
  • Frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
