Job Summary

AECOM is hiring Pipefitter Journeypersons to join the Shell Scotford 2022 Turnaround project in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This is a temporary position for our Turnaround project scheduled to run from January 2022 to approximately May 2022. Schedule is 4-on 3-off for pre-work and then a 6-on 1-off for the duration of the shutdown window. Overtime is available where approved.

Day and night shifts available and required.

No camp available so local candidates and/or those willing to stay local to Fort Saskatchewan region (Strathcona County, Edmonton Capital Region, etc) are invited to apply.

COVID-19 notice: Effective Jan 6th, 2022 Shell Scotford will require individuals to enter site being fully vaccinated and/or provide proof of an acceptable COVID-19 negative test result for every 72 hours on site.

Steamfitter – pipefitters lay out, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes. Pipefitters also remove and replace worn components, do general maintenance work and may work on plant shut-downs.

Pipefitter Journeyman will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of functional operation of various piping system components by measuring, cutting, threading, grooving and bending of pipes, valves and fittings

  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair piping systems which carry water, steam, chemicals or fuel used in heating, cooling, lubricating and other processes

  • Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain and repair pressurized piping systems

  • Hydrotest and install fabricated pipe spools within structural steel modular assemblies, adding designed supports as required

  • Use testing equipment effectively to check for system leaks and troubleshoot fitting errors

  • Maintain all tools, work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion

  • Read and interpret client and company supplied construction fabrication drawings and specifications

  • Red-line update drawings to an as-built condition

  • Follow various AECOM and Client policies & procedures including adherence to requirements of ISO 9001-2000

Conditions of Employment for this position are:

  1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

  2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certified Journeyperson and/or holds a valid recognized credential

  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification

  • OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Fall Protection

  • OSSA or Energy Safety Canada Certified Confined Space Entry

  • Fit Test

Preferred Qualifications

  • Aerial Work Platform

  • Breathing Air Certification
