Job Summary/Responsibilities

  • Design geospatial mobile solutions using Leica GS18T GNSS RTK rovers and Zeno Mobile data capture software to support the collection of real property and utility system assets.

  • Perform technical reviews to validate data are compliant with the Marine Corps implementation of the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment vector data model.

  • Develop Portal for ArcGIS web-based geospatial content/apps/systems to support mobile data collection efforts.

  • Maintain a digital GIS Program Binder detailing the processes and actions involved in completing assigned duties.

  • Plan, schedule, and direct mobile data collection activities within the United States and abroad.

  • Organize, document, and communicate status updates to client and internal project leads.

  • Lead and motivate a team of GIS Specialist.

  • Manage the performance of the project team and develop solutions to mitigate problems with team execution or technical solutions.

  • Analyze, plan, develop and communicate requirements and standards to key stakeholders and the project team.

  • Meets with subject matter experts to discuss topics, such as technical specifications, customized solutions, and operational problems.

  • Independently contributes to the design of databases or development of geodatabases and systems, as well as compiles and analyzes GIS data.

  • May evaluate commercial GIS applications, as well as design and develop GIS applications for internal use and for client deliverables.

  • Independently performs most assignments with instruction as to the general results expected.

  • Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, planning, engineering, computer science, or a related technical field with emphasis in geographic information systems (GIS)

  • 6+ years of relevant project experience

  • Valid driver’s license

  • US Citizen based on need to obtaining a secret clearance

  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills

  • Familiarity with utility system and real property assets

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro and AGOL

  • Experience working with the Spatial Data Standards for Facilities, Infrastructure, and Environment (SDSFIE)

  • Must have the ability to work independently and with a team of professionals

  • Excellent time management skills
