Project Manager Digital Lead

KBR’s global business comprises two main segments – Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) and Government Solutions (GS). The Project Manager Digital Lead role sits within the STS segment in the Integrated Solutions business unit. Integrated Solutions is the engineering and project delivery group providing services which include front-end and detailed engineering, procurement, construction services, and program management primarily in the hydrocarbons and energy transition industries.

The Project Manager Digital Lead is a global role involved in strategic implementation and development of the Digital Engineering capability across the business through coordination of stakeholder and project execution and delivery expectations, ensuring KBR Digital Strategy initiatives and Digital Engineering are delivered to mitigate rework, risk, and add value to business and customers through enhanced data integrity and quality.

Facilitates development of functional Digital Engineering strategy and manages the delivery of functional Digital Engineering objectives by providing leadership and direction and development of implementation plans and business cases for Digital Engineering initiatives.

Acts as a liaison between business and project delivery teams for the evaluation, recommendation, development and implementation of appropriate Digital Engineering systems and enhancement of current systems, development of Digital Engineering skills and expertise to meet evolving business and project execution needs. Is accountable for the performance and results of these within the business and project execution and delivery.

The role

The role is to manage delivery of multiple digital initiatives in line with the ongoing company transition to a data centric approach to work. The successful candidate will lead the further development and implementation of a set of initiatives to deliver a data centric workflow to the Engineering business processes.

Responsibilities will also include:

  • Be an advocate for Digital Engineering within the business and its application across project execution and delivery.
  • Facilitate implementation of KBR’s Digital Strategy and use of Digital Engineering processes and methods across project execution and delivery teams.
  • Present and discuss digital initiatives with internal and external clients for proposals and emerging prospects
  • Be forward-facing with customers and showcase KBR’s digital delivery options and capability
  • Represent KBR and present KBR digital solutions to customers / industry groups as opportunities present.
  • Provide technical oversight and support to ensure that client requirements are clearly understood, and project Digital Engineering Execution Plans are produced, implemented, and communicated across project teams, stakeholders, and other participants.
  • Provide direction during pre-bid and proposal stage of projects to support bid development and meet bid requirements.

  • Work alongside Projects to execute KBR’s digital delivery initiatives, promote development of efficient work processes, procedures, and methods to support the ‘KBR Way’ in delivery of Digital Engineering across the business.
  • Architecture of new Engineering work process and procedural updates in line with continued movement towards a data centric approach to Integrated Solutions work methods.
  • The development and execution of a widespread training program as required for project teams in Houston, Leatherhead and Chennai to upskill the workforce and improve project delivery.
  • Champion of cultural change within the business, contributing to the Digital Engineering learning process at all locations.

As a global organization, we are seeking the best candidate for the role. Depending on the hiring location, the successful candidate will either report into the Houston or Leatherhead office. There will also be a role for a candidate in the Chennai office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management and delivery of KBR Integrated Solutions digital initiatives
  • Includes management of budget and resources
  • Tracking and reporting of initiatives including benefits to business
  • Regular feedback to a steering group
  • Interacts with end user groups to improve the engineering and design process
  • Driving Innovation through the whole workforce to bring new initiatives to bear
  • Establishing good relationships with clients and other professional bodies
  • Aligning digital strategies with overall strategic business goals
  • Keeping abreast of developments in digital engineering workspace and field of Information Technologies, especially focused on Data and Application design.

While the role is essentially around managing the Digital initiatives, the successful candidate will be accountable for driving delivery.

Skills / Experience:


  • Demonstrate experience of leading a project or delivering a project either in engineering or technology driven sectors
  • Knowledge of CFIHOS and/or BIM and how these will impact the built environment
  • Existing experience in a similar role would be advantageous
  • Excellent management, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills
  • Ability to network and build relationships
  • Positive attitude and deadline-driven
  • Understanding of what it means to deliver in an Agile environment

The successful candidate will be expected to present their vision of a data centric future and highlight the foundational requirements that will support this.


  • Knowledge of the energy industry and the tools and systems typically used within the industry.
  • These systems include but are not limited to: AVEVA, HEXAGON, Bentley, Siemens, and the ASPEN suites of tools.

Qualifications :

Undergraduate degree in either engineering or computer science, or similar

Practical experience with leading the delivery of key change type projects.
