DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

â?¢The purpose of this position is to inspect, service, maintain and repair all facets of the Fire Sprinkler and Fire Suppression Systems.
â?¢Performs routine and complex maintenance and repairs on various fire suppression equipment, e.g., wet dry and pre-action sprinkler systems, fire hydrants, wet chemical systems and carbon dioxide systems.
â?¢Ensures that work is in accordance with relevant codes.


BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

â?¢High level of knowledge & application of the National Fire Alarm Code and Unified Facility Criteria 03-601-02 and/or UFC 03-600-01 as well as other applicable codes and standards.
â?¢Must be thoroughly capable of reading, interpreting, and applying system design plans, as well as building construction drawings and documents.
â?¢Ability and willingness to work independently and as a team member on all aspects of fire sprinkler systems, including maintenance, testing, repairs, and troubleshooting.
â?¢Must speak, read, and understand the English Language.
â?¢Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.
â?¢Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 12 months of remaining validity AND with at least 4 blank visa/stamp pages remaining.
â?¢Must possess driver's license with at least one year of remaining validity.


JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING

â?¢Professional Certifications from National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) Level III is required.
â?¢NICET Certified Level I, II, III and IV â?? Water-Based Systems Layout
â?¢NICET Certified Level I, II or III â?? Inspection and Testing of Water-Based Systems
â?¢NICET Certified Level I, II, III and IV - Special Hazards Systems


EDUCATION:

â?¢Must have at least High School diploma, Technical School or Vocational course graduate is required.
â?¢Associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited College or University is highly desired.


EXPERIENCE:

â?¢Minimum five (5) years of experience in the Fire Protection/Life Safety Industry including:
â?¢Experience in Fire Sprinkler Field as Pipefitter Journeyman and/or Foreman.
â?¢Extensive knowledge of various types of Sprinkler Systems (wet, dry, pre-action, fire pumps, etc.)
â?¢Experience with the following systems is a plus:â?¢Tyco Systems
â?¢Ansul Systems
â?¢Viking Systems
â?¢Reliable Systems
