AECOM is seeking a Safety Advisor to join our Shell Scotford team in Fort Saskatchewan, AB. This is a Full-Time position on a 6 day on, 1 day off rotation (10 hours per day)
Local Candidates ONLY as NO Living Out Allowance (LOA) or NO Camp/Travel (FIFO) option available for this project.
Under general supervision performs technical work in a wide range of environmental, health and safety disciplines to achieve compliance with ES&H standards along with federal and state regulatory requirements.
Exhibits knowledge and applies the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of their environmental specialty.
Assists in the development, implementation and maintenance of safety and health programs, systems and procedures.
Monitors and prevents hazards and diseases that could be found in the work area.
Investigates accidents, injuries, and complaints concerning hazards in the workplace.

For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.
Bachelors and 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification
OSSA Basic Safety Orientation or Enform Common Safety Orientation
Other safety ticket(s) and orientation(s) required
CRSP or NCSO
Previous Shell Scotford site experience
Proficient in MS office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
Able to mentor/coach/supervise others
Great communication skills - written and verbal
Previous Maintenance Services experience (e.g. Steady state, Turnaround, Shutdown, Outage, etc.
