SAIC is looking for an Information Systems Security Analyst to support the Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract based out of the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.

SAIC is part of a team responsible for the operation, maintenance, sustainment, and systems engineering of NASA’s worldwide satellite communication networks. You will work in a dynamic, team-based development environment for the NASA Near Earth Network.

This Position Will Be Responsible For

  • Maintains an Enterprise level Information Technology system of access control, intrusion detection, and the associated physical, electronic, and technical security elements.
  • Performs, or reviews, technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established Information Assurance (IA) standards and regulations and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Validates and verifies system security requirements definitions and analysis, establishes system security designs.
  • Designs, develops, implements and/or integrates IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification environments.
  • Builds IA into systems deployed to operational environments.
  • Perform system scans and convey mitigation strategies to engineering staff.
  • Participate as a security engineering representative on engineering teams for the design, development, implementation, and/or integration of secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • Apply knowledge of IA policy, procedures, and workforce structure to design, develop, and implement secure networking, computing, and enclave environments.
  • Support security planning, assessment, risk analysis, and risk management.
  • Recommend system-level solutions to resolve security requirements.
  • Interact with customers, IT staff, and corporate officers to define and achieve required IA objectives.



Bachelors degree and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Possess CASP, Security +CE, or similar cybersecurity related certification(s).
  • Experience executing the NIST Risk Management Framework.
  • Experience writing System Security Plans, especially Security Controls.
  • Executing the security assessment and authorization (or ATO) process with independent assessors.
  • Executing continuous monitoring and maintaining the security posture of IT systems day to day.
  • Security clearance - this position requires the candidate to be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. To obtain a clearance, you need to be a US Citizen and show proof of citizenship.

Desired Qualifications

  • Already possess an active Secret security clearance.
  • Possess CISSP or GSLC certification.
  • Current CAPM (Certified Associate of Project Management) or PMP Certification.
  • Have a working, fundamental knowledge of networking and system administration concepts.
  • Ability to work well individually and in a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.

Target salary range: $145,001 - $155,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
