Job Summary

AECOM is hiring an HVAC Technician Journeyperson to join the Cenovus Sunrise maintenance team on site near Fort McMurray, Alberta. This is a full-time temporary position on a 7/7 shift schedule .

HVAC Technicians will be expected to do but are not limited to the following tasks:

  • Maintenance work involving checking all parts of a system, lubricating moving parts and monitoring the refrigerant charge

  • Diagnosing and fixing unit problems by replacing or repairing controls, electric wiring or other parts

  • Repairing heating equipment, troubleshoot gas-fired equipment and calibrate all gas-related controls

  • Responsible for delivery of excellent customer service and sustaining high levels of customer satisfaction

This is a fly-in/fly-out position and as such will be subject to the Government of Canada’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirements:

Effective October 30th, travellers departing from Canadian airports, and travellers on VIA Rail and Rocky Mountaineer trains, will be required to be fully vaccinated in order to travel. To allow travellers time to become fully vaccinated, there will be a short transition period where they will be able to travel if they show a valid COVID-19 molecular test within 72 hours of travel as an alternative to providing proof of full vaccination. That transition period will end on November 30. If travellers have not already started the vaccination process, or do not start soon, they risk not qualifying for travel as of November 30th.

Conditions of Employment for this position are:

  1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check, an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.

  2. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Alcohol & Drug (A&D) policy, qualified applicants who are offered, and accept, a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company's Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid, the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM - O&G Business Unit.

Minimum Requirements

  • Certified Red Seal/Alberta Journeyman Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic

  • Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS-09 or 2020) Certification

  • Aerial Work Platform (AWP)

  • Fall Arrest and/or Fall Protection (OSSA issued ticket is the general requirement)

  • H2S Alive

  • HVAC diagnostic experience

  • Ability to do troubleshooting

  • Reading and interpreting drawings and blueprints

  • Experience using testing equipment

  • Startups of new or adjusted equipment

  • Valid Driver's License
