Our teams are expanding, and we are particularly interested in talking with professional Bridge Engineers at all levels. Your bridge experience will be a blend of the following: design, inspection, assessment, and refurbishment schemes.
We are now looking to enhance and grow this team with individuals with a sound technical background and who share our enthusiasm and determination to support our expanding workload.
We are currently looking for Bridge Engineers at engineer, senior and principal level.
Projects we are currently working on include:
Aberdeen to Central Belt – Route Clearance for Electrification
Northumberland Line – Freight to Passenger route development
Far North Lines – Route development study.
Network Rail Works Delivery - Longitudinal Timber Replacements & Minor Works
Dalcross - Loop & Station Upgrade
Working as a Bridge Engineer, your responsibilities will include:
Undertake and project manage rail and/or road bridge and associated structures engineering schemes from inspection and assessment, feasibility through to detailed design
Hands-on technical design on-road and/or rail structures
Hands-on assessment of road and/or rail structures
Structural inspections and reporting
In our more senior roles, additional responsibilities and challenges will include :
Take responsibility for the contribution of Graduate Engineers and Technicians as appropriate
Responsible for production through to client sign off of Technical Approval documentation
Mentoring graduate engineers in their progress to Chartership
Production of tenders including quality documentation and costings
Project Management including programme and resource monitoring, quality control, technical management and delivery
Depending on your level of experience, we would be looking for a combination of the skills listed:
Able to take responsibility for leading small projects and sub-tasks from a technical perspective.
Bridge and related structural inspection assessment and design schemes
Knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and assessment codes
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Revit
Working knowledge of structural analysis software - Lusas or SBD preferred
Experience in the design of concrete, steel, timber, and masonry structures
Experience of working within multidisciplinary teams.
Communication skills and able to represent AECOM in Client facing roles
Knowledge of Safety in Design principles and accustomed to working to a high standard in terms of H&S compliance.
You will have proven experience in the design of civil structures preferably in transportation. Chartered or Incorporated with the ICE or IStructE or alternatively you will be progressing towards your accreditation. Experience and knowledge of CDM Regulations and Construction Techniques would be an advantage.
