Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer - Civil Engineering I for our Middleton, WI office.

This position is expected to start in May 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist traffic engineers and project managers on projects related to traffic operations, safety analysis, traffic impact analyses, and other related traffic engineering work

  • Work under the direct supervision of senior staff to develop traffic models for freeway/intersection transportation improvements using microsimulation modeling.

  • Design alternatives for intersections and other transportation improvements based upon guidance from senior staff, client requirements and industry standards

  • Compile, process and assess a variety of data to identify trends and draw conclusions that can be used to enhance operations/maintenance of transportation infrastructure

  • Write technical reports

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in traffic or transportation engineering or a related field from an accredited university

  • Valid Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Experience with computer programming

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
