Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Hanover, MD in June 2022.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Configure and maintain Elastic, Logstash, Kibana (ELK) stack
  • Perform system administration functions and build, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers
  • Be responsible for system security and data integrity.
  • Ensure files are backed up as required and respond to management requests for information.
  • Collaborate with team members supporting our system so that the environment is stable and provide notification of any concerns or outages in advance.
  • Integrate new deployments, technologies and equipment into existing production environment.
  • Create and modify scripts as needed to automate repetitive tasks.
  • Monitor system performance, system/security logs and identifying potential issues with computer systems.
  • Provide technical guidance to other systems administrators.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with ten (10) years experience in systems administration of hardware and software.  Without Bachelor of Science Degree, an additional 5 years of related experience is required
  • Experience in administration of UNIX and Windows operating systems, troubleshooting, and implementing enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Experience with Linux command line and scripting
  • Experience with Security and Compliance
  • Creating and managing virtual environments (VMware)
  • Scripting experience (Bash, Shell, Python, Perl)
  • Must be a self-starter with a background in Unix/Linux and Windows systems administration and configuration.
  • Experience with administration and/or architecture of ELK (Elastic, Log Stash, Kibana) including
  • Diagnosing shard issues and repairing a cluster's health
  • Backing up and restoring a cluster and/or specific indices
  • Configuring a snapshot to be searchable
  • Configuring a cluster for cross-cluster search
  • Implementing cross-cluster replication
  • Defining role-based access control using Elasticsearch Security

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Elastic Engineer Certification
  • Experience with Python Scripting/programming
  • Experience with SaltStack
