ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission-oriented Senior Data Engineer, interested in supporting cybersecurity through the development of data visualization capabilities for critical mission defense infrastructure operations, systems and tools.  Join a program with great growth potential that seeks to detect, analyze, and defend against advanced attacks in real time, through implementation and the configuration of emerging technologies that enable proactive cyber defense. The right candidate has a combination of superior analytical abilities, business acumen, business judgement, curiosity, technical skills, and superb written and verbal communication skills in order to join our team. We’re looking for a business intelligence engineer that is a self-starter, is comfortable with ambiguity, able to think big and be creative (while still paying careful attention to detail), and enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. If this describes you, your interests and career pursuits, come join the ManTech Team!

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, reports, dashboards, etc. that will support the needs of the business.

  • Apply deep analytic and business intelligence skills to extract meaningful insights and learning from large and complicated datasets.

  • Be hands-on with ETL to build data pipeline to support automated reporting.

  • Serve as liaison between the business and technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance, and ad hoc analyses to support future improvements or innovations. This will require data gathering and manipulation, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.

  • Build various data visualizations to tell the story of business trends, patterns, and outliers through rich visualizations.

  • Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.

  • Perform basic project management practices to organize and communicate any data engineering work with the related team and customer base.

  • Meet with end-users/customers to understand their environment and gain firsthand experience with their challenges, thus enabling you and the team to not only gather data but build the “story”, add context behind the data and propose to the team and the customer the best options.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

Required

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related experience.

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in data science, business analytics, business intelligence (BI), or comparable experience in big data environments.

  • 2+ years of experience in data mining and data-set preparation using SQL

  • 2+ years of experience with Tableau Desktop, Power BI or other relevant data visualization software.

  • Experience with data modeling, data warehousing, and building ETL pipelines.

Desired:

  • 3+ years of experience in a data engineer or BIE role with a technology company.

  • Strong verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively communicate with both business and technical team, and senior management as required.

  • Experience working in large data warehouse environments.

  • Experience conducting large scale and complex data analysis to support business decision making.

  • Meets/exceeds ManTech’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role.
