Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Certified Welding Inspector to join our Vehicle Engineering Maintenance and Operations Support (VEMOS) team. The selected candidate will assist in providing sustainment support services (operational engineering and logistics support) globally for some 25,000 vehicles including the Army's Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles, or MRAPs.

*Important Note*: Selected candidates without an ACTIVE German/E.U. Work Visa will be required to work the first 90 days in a Temporary role while obtaining their Visa. Once an E.U. Work Visa is approved, then you will be offered a Full-Time German Contract. If accepted, then you will be subjected to paying German taxes, obtaining German Healthcare, and working within the guidelines of the German labor system.

You must demonstrate your welding skills in accordance with applicable certification and testing per AWS DI.1 and ManTech Weld Procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Certified Welder 2 researches, plans, designs and develops new applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
• Reviews contractor's standards, specifications, and other documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
• Designs or reviews simple mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation and/or instrumentation systems using analytical and investigative methods and techniques to ensure systems meet required specifications.
• Gathers and correlates basic data and performs routine engineering research and development assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests to develop new applications or upgrade existing hardware.
• Guides and assists technicians in fabrication and installation of simple mechanical and related equipment and routine systems to ensure conformance of product and systems with engineering design and customer specifications.
• Performs welding on ballistic hulls and metals, read blueprints and associated installation   instructions, and perform assembly within specified tolerances.
• Prepares instructional guides for repairing, calibrating, and maintaining equipment and   systems.
• Provides design details and recommends modifications to engineering designs as needed.
• May evaluate field installations and recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions or improve equipment or system function.
• May review and correct drawings to ensure that products are in accordance with proper engineering techniques and specifications.
• Tasks may require physical abilities.

Required Qualifications:

• Must obtain or already have an active Germany/E.U. Work VISA to be considered.
• Must have thirteen (13) yrs. welding experience (e.g., MIG, TIG, ARC, etc.)
• Must have an AWS D1.1 certification.
• Must have institutional knowledge of electromechanical, mechanical, and pneumatic skills acquired through years of direct military or commercial support to maintain US proprietary low-density systems.
• Must be proficient in the FCAW and SMAW processes.
• Travel to hostile areas is required. Must be able to meet all government Individual Replacement Deployment Operations (IRDO) requirements for foreign travel into operational locations.
• Position requires moderate to lengthy travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
• Must be able to obtain a Visa prior to DEPLOYMENT.
• Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED.  

Desired Qualifications:

• Prior training or maintenance experience on MRAP FOV systems preferable.
• Preferably familiar or knowledgeable with MRAP/RCV systems.
• Ability to meet the government deployment physical requirements.
• Willingness to travel to various US or OCONUS locations.
• Willingness to deploy to all/any of these locations, including Southwest Asia and South-Central Asia.
• Some OCONUS deployments may be to risky hostile ("war zone") environments which earn larger bonuses.

Security Clearance Requirements:

• Must be able to obtain and maintain a (DoD) Public Trust clearance.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and knee.
• Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
• Must be able to work in high noise areas.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
• Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
