SAIC is seeking a Chief Software Engineer in San Diego, CA with an active TS/SCI to support a key technical role on a fast paced highly innovative agency led initiative. SAIC is developing its joint all-domain command and control capability and supporting several initiatives across.  This next generation system shall employ the latest advancements across the technology spectrum to include AI/ML and distributed architectures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in large, complex software system of systems design, development and integration projects.  This role will require expertise in software (SW) design, development, configuration management, architecture, and large distributed (networked) compute platforms.  



Ten (10) or more years of experience with several required skills noted below:

  • Technical leadership, software development, and specific experience with software development in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Experience integrating large, complex software systems comprised of inputs from numerous vendors
  • Experience with multiple of the following:
  • Agile methodologies such as Kanban or Scrum
  • SW development using Agile Iteration Workflow (Requirements, Development, Testing, Integration/Delivery, and Feedback)
  • Full stack software development (client and server side)
  • Languages: Python, C/C++, php, Java Script
  • API Development with REST or SOAP.
  • Streaming/Messaging tools such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, or ZeroMQ
  • Databases: MYSQL, Accumolo/NOSQL DB
  • CI/CD with Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, or MS Azure
  • Real-time performance budgets
  • Configuration Management Tools and best practices: (ClearCase, svn, git, Bitbucket)
  • SW Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as IntelliJ IDEA
  • Must be able to work in a large, cross functional team
  • Ability to interface with all levels of project management 
  • Desired Working knowledge of Mulit-Level Security (MLS) environments


Desired Skills in one or more areas:

Software experience with Command and Control Battle Management (C2BM) capabilities across numerous warfare domains.

Experience with network layers (OSI layers 1-7)

Experience with modeling and simulation or real-time major weapon programs

Work Flow automation (Jenkins -automated test infrastructure)

Understanding multi-domain phenomenologies



Recent SSBI clearance. Bachelor’s Degree in STEM minimum, with advanced degrees preferred.
