Description
SAIC has three openings for a Senior Systems Administrator in Fort Gordon, GA.
Performs high-level, day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for complex operating systems, workstations and servers.
Coordinates, directs and performs complex software installations and upgrades to operating systems and layered software packages.
Schedules installations and upgrades and maintains them in accordance with established IT policies and procedures.
Continually monitors and tunes multiple systems to achieve optimum performance levels.
Ensures workstation/server data integrity by evaluating, implementing, and managing appropriate software and hardware solutions of varying complexities.
Ensures data/media recoverability by developing and implementing a schedule of system backups and database archive operations.
Plans and implements the modernization of servers.
Develops, implements, and promotes standard operating procedures and schedules.
Conducts hardware and software audits of workstations and servers to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.
Develops and implements new standards, policies and procedures.
Works closely with Network and Systems Analysts to help determine and develop the systems to be implemented.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more of related experience; Masters and three (3) years or more related experience; PhD and 0 years experience. Additional four (4) years experience may be substituted for degree.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience administrating networks and systems, worked directly in the career field during five (5) of the preceding eight (8) years.
Must have a solid understanding of Microsoft server & workstation operating systems and networking
Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems preferred
Advanced IT administrator skills in remote administration, remote desktop, Group Policy Object (GPO) management, system backup and recovery, and monitor servers for performance evaluation and optimization
Advanced IT Administrator skills in Collaboration Services, e.g., Chat Services, SharePoint Portal, Electronic Email Exchange) Server
Advanced skills in datacenter management, Cloud Services, virtualization, storage area networks (SANs), data/system backups, and asset management
Expert remote troubleshooting and customer service skills.
Be computer literate with emphasis on proficiency with MS Office products (i.e.; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access).
CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have 1 of 3: Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) Windows Server, CompTIA Server+; or equivalent.
At least one Systems Administrator must have certification in eitherMicrosoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) Core Infrastructure OR MCSE Core Infrastructure.
At least one Systems Administrator must have certification in Microsoft (MS) server virtualization.
At least one Systems Administrator must have certification in NetApp Certified Data Administrator (CDA).
CLEARANCE:
U.S. citizen with Secret clearance required to start work
Ability to obtain a TS with SCI eligibility
