DESCRIPTION OF JOB TASK AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

â?¢Provides incident response to include quickly analyzing, blocking, and fixing systems/networks/problems in a threat situation, correlating firewall logs, system audit logs, and antiviral postures.
â?¢Implements required course of action and/or recommendation to the client regarding open incidents and events for routers, firewalls, dial-up, and Internet access.
â?¢Performs vulnerability alert compliance, and configuration of the system and network infrastructure components, including web servers.
â?¢Needs to possess the ability to audit, analyze and understand the existing infrastructure process and to communicate how to incorporate the required principles and practices into the operational technology environment.
â?¢A strong ability to perform research, install, configure and maintain UNIX, and Linux platforms are necessary.
â?¢Evaluate, recommend, install, and supports local area network (LAN) and associated topology infrastructure.
â?¢Evaluate LAN hardware and software requirements and capabilities related to user needs, and make recommendations.
â?¢Designs network architecture and plan and coordinate total network integration.
â?¢Supervises installation of the required hardware.
â?¢Installs application software programs.
â?¢Assigns all routing protocols placed on routers on the network.
â?¢Provides software and hardware familiarization overview with users.
â?¢Installs configure and connect to networks Cisco routers and switches.
â?¢Reviews site surveys, provides technical assistance to team members in the running of Fiber Optic to connect the hardware, to the local area network.
â?¢Provides troubleshooting support for major nodes on a network.
â?¢Performs other duties as assigned.


BASIC JOB QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

â?¢Knowledge in network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
â?¢Ability to oversee a technical team and implement best practice standards, lead projects and maintain network infrastructure and security.
â?¢Must possess administrative, organizational, and computer skills to include proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
â?¢Ability to work quickly and in a potentially high-stress environment.
â?¢Must have good oral and written communication skills which enable to effectively liaise with clients, other departments within the organization, subcontractors, and clients, and report directly to the Senior Management.
â?¢Must pass overseas medical screening and be in good health.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS: SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING

â?¢IAT-2: Security + or GSEC or SCNP or SSCP Senior Network Engineer must meet requirements outlined in the DOD 8570.1M directive matrix IAT-2.
â?¢Must hold Secret Clearance

EDUCATION:

â?¢Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in computer science/engineering, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

EXPERIENCE:

â?¢Five years of experience with a large, mission-critical Cisco-based wide area network/local area network (WAN/LAN).
â?¢Proven experience working with Cisco routers, Switches, fiber modems, and subnetting is needed.
â?¢Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting security configuration issues with MS Exchange, WWW, DNS, and NT Domain Controllers are required.
