General Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and facilitate coordination throughout the enterprise related to acquisition workforce professional development; planning and business process reengineering; data administration, data standardization, and records management.
  • Support CBP Component Certification Manager and acquisition workforce support coordinator for all training and certification activities. 
  • Support the training, development, certification preparation, and Continuous Learning activities of the CBP workforce.
  • Support the implementation of policy, doctrine, and strategic human capital resources to facilitate Component Acquisition Executive acquisition workforce priorities. 
  • Support the development and sustainment Acquisition Workforce Communities of Practice and provide policy implementation to integrate CBP workforce practices with DHS policy and Federal Acquisition Institute doctrine. 
  • Participate in DHS Agency-level strategic planning and acquisition workforce policy development to define acquisition competencies in key acquisition training programs.
  • Prepare technical guidelines and standard operating procedures to promote improved knowledge management and internal organizational efficiency.
  • Support the development and implementation of acquisition workforce program management best practices, lifecycle process assets (policies, processes, procedures, standards), and Knowledge Management Tools.
  • Support development and tracking of acquisition workforce performance metrics.


  • This position requires demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, effective decision-making, the ability to plan and organize work, and excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Requires a detail-oriented self-starter with superior customer interface skills and experience in supporting senior Government leaders and other technical/business professionals.
  • Three to ten years of direct relevant experience in workforce and knowledge management support to federal agencies is desired.
  • Knowledge of database usage and data analysis is desired.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Project and SharePoint are required.
  • A current Customs and Border Protection Background Investigation is required.
  • Bachelors Degree and minimum of 3 years of experience
