Core Duties:

The role of the Custodian is to keep the buildings and grounds clean and neat, in a safe manner that meets company standards. The Custodian will use cleaning chemicals to maintain equipment and other supplies while dusting, vacuuming, mopping and cleaning restrooms. They will also need to be readily available to assist with any maintenance needs, if called upon.

Principal Responsibilities:

The primary role of the Custodian is to follow the Head of Maintenance's instructions regarding cleaning and general maintenance of all Berkshire Welco, LLC divisions. The Cleaning and Maintenance duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:

â?¢ Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.)
â?¢ Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
â?¢ Manage Cleaning supply inventory
â?¢ Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects
â?¢ Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
â?¢ Make adjustments and minor repairs
â?¢ Stock and maintain supply rooms
â?¢ Cooperate with the rest of the staff
â?¢ Follow all health and safety regulations
â?¢ Perform other related duties as assigned
â?¢ Cleaning wood, linoleum, tile and other floors
â?¢ Shampooing rugs and carpets
â?¢ Changing air filters and cleaning vents
â?¢ Dusting all surfaces, Washing and Waxing floors, Washing windows
â?¢ Ordering new cleaning supplies as needed maintaining a thorough inventory
â?¢ Updating MSDS & Chemical logs
â?¢ Using equipment, commercial vacuums, floor buffers and carpet cleaners
â?¢ Collecting and taking out trash and recycling

Essential Work Experience and Qualifications:

â?¢ High school diploma or GED
â?¢ Related experience preferred
â?¢ Must be at least 21 years of age

Physical Requirements / Work Environment:

â?¢ Prolonged periods of standing and walking
â?¢ Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, or crawl into awkward spaces
â?¢ Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time
â?¢ Ability to work in a team and follow instructions from supervisors
â?¢ Must be able to meet all shift requirements with regularity, predictability and consistency
